CFMC will offer Amateur Radio license
testing at Radio Expo on Saturday September 13th and Sunday
September 14th, 2008 from 9:00 AM 'till 12:00 noon. No one
will be accepted for testing after 11:00 AM either

state ID card, school ID, passport, etc. At least one piece
of proper identification must have a recognizable
photo.
2. If upgrading, the candidate must
present his or her unexpired FCC Amateur Radio License AND
one photo copy. If applicable, please bring your unexpired
CSCE AND one photo copy. The VE Team will return the
originals documents to you, copies are forwarded to the ARRL
VEC for processing upon successful completion of the test.
Please be aware that the VE Team and Radio Expo do NOT have
a photo copier on site. Please make your required copies
prior to arriving at Radio Expo. All required copies must be
submitted at the time of application.

5. The ARRL VEC testing fee is
Fourteen Dollars ( $14.00 ) payable in cash, check or money
order. Checks should be made payable to "ARRL VEC." Exact
cash amount greatly appreciated. Please note that if you
successfully complete an exam, you may take another level
exam without paying an additional fee.
Technician, General, Extra, and Morse
Code exams will be available. Be advised that there is
nearby Expo activity and crowd noise that some may find
distracting during a CW exam.
The ARRL-VEC has adopted a new
Technician question pool, effective July 1, 2006. The Radio
Expo VE Team will be using the newly updated Technician
question pool exam questions.
Retakes of failed exams require an
additional Fourteen Dollar fee and are subject to the sole
discretion of the VE Team. Retakes may be limited by the
number of examinees, time of day, and your score.
A note on "paper upgrades." If you are
a Tech Plus that was licensed prior to March 21, 1987 and
desire to upgrade to General, you must have either a letter
from the FCC stating that you were properly licensed prior
to March 21, 1987, or a prior license showing you were a
Technician prior to March 21, 1987. A copy of these
documents must be submitted with your
application.
