1) ANALOG MODE IS TOP PRIORITY AT ALL TIMES. NOTICE TO MOTOROLA ASTRO USERS.. PLEASE MONITOR YOUR RADIO IN " MIXED MODE " TO ASSURE NOBODY IS USING ANALOG BEFORE MAKING YOUR CALL.
2) IT'S RECOMMENDED THAT USERS WITH REGULAR, NON-DIGITAL MOTOROLA RADIOS TO SET THERE RADIOS TO MONITOR IN PL 114.8 ( ENCODE AND DECODE). THE REASON FOR THIS IS TO MAKE SURE THE LOUD ANNOYING BUZZING SOUND THAT YOU HEAR IN ANALOG WHILE SOMEONE IS USING DIGITAL IS MUTED ON YOUR END. DIGITAL P-25 DOES NOT USE A PL, ITS CARRIER SQUELCH.
3) ANALOG USERS WHILE BEING IN ENCODE AND DECODE, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU OBSERVE YOUR S-METER OR BUSY INDICATOR ON YOUR RADIO TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO APCO P-25 TRAFFIC BEFORE MAKING YOUR CALL. THIS WILL MAKE THE USE OF THIS DUAL MODE SYSTEM MUCH SMOOTHER.
4) SINCE THERE IS NO COURTESY "BEEP / Tone" , MAKE SURE THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY DROPS IN BETWEEN TRANSMISSIONS.
